A-bombed Tree

Kurogane Holly
(Hiroshima Castle)
21 Motomachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima (Hiroshima Castle)

  (2009.6.27)
This tree has a neat tree shape and may not seem to be an A-bombed tree that is often damaged.

  (2010.4.3)

This tree has males and females, and this tree is female. Therefore, it has red fruits.

  (2017.5.3)

It is a visit after 7 years. This tree seems to be fine with no damage. There were azalea flowers nearby.

It is a Kurogane Holly that I had never been known.
There are two in the place where I walked a little west from the tree in the photo above.
One has a broken main trunk, and branches from there.
The other one is tall, but there is no branch on one side, which seems to be the effect of the atomic bomb.

  (2017.11.3)

Since all three Kurogane Holly are female, they have red fruits.
The upper Kurogane Holly has many fruits,
but the other two seem to be amount of fruit attached to the tree is small.

(2022.5.5)

The fresh greenery shines beautifully against the blue sky.

The trees on the west side have few fruits,
but the trees on the east side are gorgeous with many red fruits.
It is healthy with many overhanging branches.

 <How to visit>
